Deluxe Gable Roof Shed Dimension Details

Outside width at base (not including siding and trim): 8, 10, 12, 14, 16. If you need a custom width let me know and I will make the truss calculations for no charge. Will take me about a week.

Length at base (not including siding and trim): 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 24, 28, 32. Custom lengths are easy by adjusting the length of the side wall top/bottom plates and floor band boards.

Wall stud length: Adjust this dimension to make your shed taller or shorter. The following dimensions are based on using a standard wall stud length.

Outside wall height (bottom of floor to top of top plate/bottom of truss): 8ft standard. Can be made shorter or taller up to 10/12ft by adjusting the wall stud length.

Truss Height (top of top plate/bottom of truss to top of truss): Varies with the shed width and roof pitch.

3:12 pitch: 8 wide= 15 5/8, 10 wide= 18 5/8, 12 wide= 21 5/8, 14 wide= 24 5/8, 16 wide= 27 5/8
6:12 pitch: 8 wide= 28, 10 wide= 34, 12 wide= 40, 14 wide= 46, 16 wide= 52
12:12 pitch: 8 wide= 53, 10 wide= 65, 12 wide= 77, 14 wide= 89, 16 wide= 101

Overall height without foundation: Outside wall height plus truss height, plus about 2 inches for roof sheeting and shingle thickness.

Foundation height (bottom of floor to ground level): 4 inches for the skids plus any blocks you use. Typically 6-8 inches total.

Overall height with foundation, from ground level to top of roof: Overall height plus foundation height.

Headroom from top of floor to bottom of truss: 7 ft 6 in.

Inside width between studs: Outside shed width less 7 inches for 2x4 framing. If you frame with 2x6's then less 11 inches. Between studs the inside width is the same as the outside width (without siding or trim).

Overhang is assumed and built into the materials list. Typically you will build with 12 inches on all 4 sides.
